I retitled this painting because of something I found out a while back and felt it better to just get it off my chest than pretend I just painted something meaningless when I knew better. Nobody here remembers her, nor do I expect anyone to but this painting is dedicated to an old friend. I discovered that she died of complications while serving as a surrogate mother for her cousin overseas. The whole experience has been a haunting reminder that I've had to see too many friends go in the prime of their life. Now with life changing and one of my best friends of 10 years and running about to ship out to the Army I just wonder if this is another permanent goodbye. So there's the other half of the story... and there we go.
